7 months old today

Happy 7 months to Benjamin Cheng-Yu today.
Coolidge Park 80 degrees...nice!
Little mishap with the fingernail clippers,
according to Madeline...I was "overreacting".
And I was.

Just got news about a friend's
precious little girl who has been diagnosed
with cancer.  She will undergo 20 weeks of
chemotherapy.  They are waiting on more test
results that will reveal whether it has invaded
the lymph nods or even her brain.  She is only
3 years old.  Please pray for her, Summer Cobb.

Room 107

Hello Room 107...How are you?
Secret...Mrs. Freeman has Jolly Ranchers,
but I bet she won't tell you.  She says they
are like cough drops to her.  I guess it is
kinda like those Tootsie Rolls that Mrs.
DenBleyker keeps hidden in her clipboard.
You need to know these things to survive
in that classroom!

Today, Ben and I got to be in the class picture with
Mrs. Freeman and the incredible students in room 107.
I like to call them "my kids" because the truth is,
I am crazy about all of them and miss them so much!

Glimpse of Heaven

There is a song by Third Day called Show Me Your Glory and every time I looked at Baby Ben today (which was pretty much every moment of the day), I thought about that song.  In the song it says...show me your glory, shine down from heaven, I wanna see your face.  When I look at Ben it is like looking through a little window to heaven.  His smile draws my attention to God.  My mind cannot comprehend the extent of God's greatness, my heart is not big enough to hold the love He has given.  He has not only shown me His glory, but literally stunned me with it.  I feel like I just can't praise Him enough, but I will keep trying!

Uncle Will is Cool

I really love my Uncle Will---(the purse doesn't bother me, maybe you were looking for my pacifier).

Life is Good

Alisan Taylor bought this really cool hat for Ben that just really sums up where we are in our journey at this moment in time.

Home is Where Your Heart is

Well, we have been home for almost 2 weeks now and the suitcases are still not completely unpacked.  I just can't empty those things.  To do so feels like closing the door, turning the page completing a chapter.  It is really strange, but as long as they remain "half-packed" I feel a connection to Taiwan, my son's birth home.  It is really hard to explain, but a little piece of my heart even feels home sick for a country that isn't my home, but the origin of my son's birth.  When we first saw his picture nearly 6 months ago, I feel in love with him and Taiwan.  I needed to feel near him so my heart had to connect with the country so far away.  As I longed to be with him, I actually longed for Taiwan.  So now, Taiwan is really a part of my life and a "home away from home".  I do already miss it and hope to take Benjamin Cheng-Yu back to visit one day.  I don't think I will keep those suitcases packed until then, but for today...I am not ready to close the door.

Friends

I have a friend who puts the needs of others before her own, she takes care of things before you realize anything needs to be done, she is trustworthy (well kinda), she is organized, hilarious....well let's just say...she's gotta be gifted!!!

I want to thank her for everything she has done but I really don't know how, so I thought I would just blog it!

She has helped Scott and me on our journey to Ben in ways that I couldn't even begin to document.  It is like trying to count your blessings...they're endless.  For example, the only person that was in attendance at my Baby Ben showers as much as her was ME.

I am sure she really is gifted intellectually, but I know that she has God's gift of compassion. She doesn't just do these kinds of things for me.  Anyone can tell you, she just has the gift-she is a Friend.  As you can see in the photo, Ben thinks she is amazing too.

Leigh Ann- Please don't kill me for this...just be thankful that I didn't have any photos from our White Water Excursion!

Love ya-Robin
