These Hands

When I rocked Cheng-Yu to sleep tonight, he held tightly to his Little Engine That Could book in one hand and a toothbrush in the other.  I can remember the first several months after we returned from Taiwan, he would play with my hair as I rocked him.  As he got a little older, those little hands would scratch me on the back as he fell asleep.   For about the last month, he has wanted to hold on to something as he goes to sleep.  Typically, he will hold his toothbrush or a small tube of toothpaste.  I usually hear the item of choice hit the floor as he drifts off to sleep, but there are times when he doesn't lose the grip even as he slumbers.  This made me think about how God never loses his grip on our lives.  We may drift away from Him, but He never lets us go.  If we listen carefully enough, we can hear him in our daily lives.  If we look with our hearts, we can see him in the smallest of things.  If we are still, we can feel his loving grip.  Within the first few moments that I held my son on the day we met him, he reached up with his precious little hand and touched my face as he looked me dead in the eyes.  It was like he was saying..."Hello, Momma...I have been waiting for you."  I was listening, looking and still...God WAS there.

Rub a Dub

Cheng-Yu loves to line these little ducks up along the edge of the tub.  I love seeing all of his bath toys...another small thing---great joy!!!!  I am still amazed every day at God's incredible master plan.  It has been almost a year since we were united with Cheng-Yu.  My thoughts are with a family we met along the way in our adoption journey.  They are traveling to China this week to be united with their daughter.  China will have a new home in their hearts and "Made in China" will have new meaning, as I know "Made in Taiwan"sure has new meaning for me.

Happy 17 Months

I picked up these 5 dollar toy golf clubs at ToysRus on the way home today.
Poppa and Grams got him this truck for Christmas.

I have some catching up to do on this blog!
Today, Cheng-Yu is 17 months old.  We went with Poppa Don and GiGi to Carraba's to celebrate Poppa Don's birthday.  It was a peaceful Sunday.  We enjoyed every moment with our 17 month old boy.

10 Month Benniversary

Ten months ago, I loved him with all my heart...but now, I love him even more.
I still find myself amazed at how God planted this little boy in our hearts and he
grew there until we held him in our arms.  But even now, he still grows in my heart---he actually GROWS my heart!
